Our newest exhibit is from the very talented Ashley Dietrich. Her portraits of pigeons are beautifully painted from photographs of real birds. She has loaned the museum over 20 paintings for us to display until March of next year. Ashley holds BFAs in Studio Art and Art History, and a minor in Philosophy. She worked on graduate studies in Biocultural Anthropology and Archaeology before choosing to paint full-time. A fascination with portraiture and an exploration of anthropomorphism led to her current body of work, which features individualized likenesses of birds.
You will find a great article about her and her paintings by clicking on our article button in our navigation bar and also see additional photos of her and her work in our photo section!
This wonderful exhibit will be up in the museum until March 2016. You won’t want to miss her amazing work.
